Safa’ Obeid is an English teacher from Jordan who teaches elementary and preparatory students at Sweileh Prep Coed School/UNRWA in North Amman. She is the students’ parliament, peer mediation and human rights coordinator and is evaluated as ”The Best-Performer” among her professional peers. Safa’s goal is to make learning a pleasant, self-driven mission for her students, and to create opportunities for them to develop their skills and participate confidently and positively as they contribute to the world.

Safa’ created the ”Environment-Based Enrichment Activities Toolkit” to help other teachers integrate environmental topics in their lessons smoothly and effectively.

The toolkit includes icebreakers, attention getters and suggested activities for different grades and different subjects. All teachers in the school implemented activities from the toolkit, which helped students become aware of many environmental issues and start taking actions toward environmental sustainability.

Safa’ Obeid is interested in community service. She led campaigns aimed at raising awareness and promoting positive involvement by community members and organizations. As Safa’ works with Palestine refugees within camps, she is particularly interested in organizing and implementing projects for empowering women and young people. In her free time, she likes writing.
