What is the role of The Earth Prize Mentors?
The Mentors will help guide and support The Earth Prize Participants by answering teams’ questions related to their environmental sustainability projects and ideas.

Do the Mentors know which team I am from?
The Mentoring is completely anonymous, which means the Mentors will not know who you are or what Idea you are working on. Remember not to share any personal details such as your name, team name, email address, phone number, or school name.

Can I talk to the Mentors outside The Mentorship Portal?
No, all mentoring will be anonymous and will take place strictly through the Mentorship Portal.

Who can ask questions?
Every student participating in The Earth Prize competition. You can submit questions individually and on behalf of your team.

What kind of questions can I ask?
You can ask any questions related to your project, the submission requirements, or any of the topics covered in The Earth Prize learning materials. Please remember that the mentorship is anonymous, so don’t ask the Mentors any personal questions.

Who will see my questions?
Your questions will be visible to all Mentors, who will then decide among them which questions to answer based on their knowledge. Don’t be surprised if more than one Mentor answers your question!

Can other Participants see my questions?
No, only the Mentors can see your questions, so you don’t have to worry about other Participants finding out about your Idea.

How much can I tell the Mentors about my Idea?
It is completely up to you! All Mentors are required to keep Participants’ Ideas confidential and not to share them with other Participants. Please remember that the Mentors don’t have any prior information about your Idea, and thus might ask follow-up questions to gain a better understanding.

What is the rating for?
All Participants are encouraged to rate how helpful are the Mentors' answers. This will enable The Earth Prize team to select the Mentor of the Year in case of discrepancies.

Can the Mentors see how I rate their answers?
No, ratings will only be visible to The Earth Prize team.

Do I have to ask questions?
Asking questions is not mandatory; however, we encourage all Participants to benefit from the Mentor’s expertise and advice.

How will the Mentor of the Year be selected?
Each team is required to vote for their favorite Mentor on The Earth Prize Submissions Portal.

What should I do if my questions are not answered?
Depending on the number of questions from the Participants, it might take a little longer for Mentors to go through all of them. If your question has not been answered within 3 days, you can ask a follow-up question and let them know that you still need help.

How many questions can I ask?
Each Participant can submit 3 questions at a time. Once your question has been answered, please remember to mark your question as “Answered”, after which you will be able to ask more questions.

When will the Mentoring end?
The Mentorship Portal will be open until the end of the Submissions Phase. During the Finalist Phase, each team will have a chance to work with one of the Mentors directly.

What should I do if I am experiencing challenges in the Mentoring process?
